William Foote - Principal Partner, CEO ITEC KC
Mr. Foote is presently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SWD Communities, LLC headquartered in Newport Beach, California. SWD Communities, LLC is involved in specialty homebuilding and develops major communities in the Western United States.
Mr. Foote is the former President of Lake Las Vegas, a long term, mixed use development project which will feature four hotels, and entertainment center, a commercial complex, up to 3,000 residential units and five signature golf courses. The total build-out value for this project is anticipated to be $4.0 billion.
Prior to becoming President of Lake Las Vegas, Mr. Foote was President and Managing Partner of Southwest Diversified Partners, a partnership between Mr. Foote’s company, Southwest Diversified, Inc., and Coscan Development Corporation, one of Canada’s leading development companies which is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Prior to forming Southwest Diversified, Mr. Foote served as President and Managing Partner of Cadillac Fairview Homes West since its formation in 1977 until its sale to Cadillac Fairview, Ltd. In March 1983. The company was a partnership with Canada’s largest development company, Toronto based Cadillac Fairview, Ltd. Prior to the formation of Cadillac Fairview Homes West, and Mr. Foote owned and operated several development companies.
Mr. Foote served as Vice President and General Manager of the Asset Management Division for Kaiser Aetna. He was responsible for over $200 million in assets in 22 states. Before this, Mr. Foote served as Vice President and General Manager of Kaiser Aetna’s Joint Venture Division.
Before joining Kaiser Aetna, Mr. Foote was President and Director of U.S. Financial-Southeast, Inc. and Vice President of the NYSE listed U.S. Financial, Inc., a company serving as a joint venture partner and lender to builders and developers throughout the United States. Earlier, Mr. Foote served as Vice President of Kaufman & Broad Multi-Family, Inc.
Mr. Foote received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Southern California. He served as Chairman of the Executive Committee of USC’s Lusk Center for Real Estate for eight years and now serves as Chairman Emeritus. He is also a member of The Presidential Associates, USC’s premier support organization.
In addition to serving on many educational and charitable boards, Mr. Foote served on the board of the internationally based Pacific Rim Council on Urban Development and has been a speaker at many industry functions such as Pacific Coast Builders Conference, American Resort Development Association, National Home Builders Association and the Urban Land Institute. Mr. Foote’s company, Southwest Diversified has won many awards including Builder of the Year, in Southern Arizona in 1992 plus multiple MAME, MIRM and Gold Nugget awards. He was also named to the Beta Theta Pi Hall of Fame for his community service.
