Manager, Satellite Mission Flight Engineering and IOT Group - Boeing Satellite Development Center, El Segundo, California. Ed joined Boeing Satellite Systems, El Segundo in Jan. 2002 as a Function Manager for the In Orbit Test (IOT) Group.  Ed has been working in the Satellite industry for the last 14 years as an industry expert in the IOT and Ground Test Systems fields.

Ed has developed portable ground systems to provide specialized IOT and Earth Station calibration functions that have produced on orbit measurement results with 0.5 dB of accuracy. Prior to the Satellite industry, Ed was working in the Electronic Warfare Simulation field and worked from 1978 through 1989 in this type of work. 

Currently, Ed manages 25 Mission Specialist Engineers working in the field of Satellite Orbit Raising and IOT operations for several Civil/Commercial and DOD programs.  Prior to his current assignment, Ed managed 50 Test Engineers working on the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) project.  These are a series of 3 satellites that will be used by NASA/NOAA for Weather Observations and Space Environment Monitoring.

Ed is involved with 2 charitable organizations and is currently the board vice-chairman for the Center of Employment Training (CET), a nationwide non-profit Training Organization headquartered in San Jose, CA.  CET has trained and job placed over 100,000 students in its 38 years of existence, one of which was Ed during the period of Aug 1974 through Jan 1975.  After completing his Mechanical Drafting Technologies training Ed received his first job working at NASA/AMES Research Center in Mountain View, Calif.  Ed credits much of his current success to the great training and guidance he received while attending CET.  This Ed states was the basis for his good work ethic and also providing him with the confidence to succeed in whatever assignment came along in his career.

Ed is a native Californian, born in San Jose and raised in Salinas, John Steinbeck country.  Ed will be celebrating his 30th wedding anniversary with his wife Janie in August 2006.  Ed and Janie have two grown children, Ed Jr. and Angela and are also proud grandparents of 4-year-old Natalie.  They reside in (Surf City, USA) aka Huntington Beach, Ca. Ed has also coached baseball at the High School and Community College level, most recently at San Jose City College, from 1996 through 2002.
